HealthPoint settlement timing change from 19 June 2026

Learn how approved private health insurance claim rebate settlements are changing for HealthPoint claims paid to NPP-enabled bank accounts.

Written by Mitch

What’s changing?

From 19 June 2026, approved HealthPoint claim rebates paid to NPP-enabled (New Payments Platform) bank accounts will settle the next calendar day, including weekends and public holidays.

Previously, claim rebates paid to NPP-enabled bank accounts settled on the next business day, excluding weekends and public holidays.

This means some weekend claims may now be paid sooner.

Claims submitted on Friday 19 June will be paid on Saturday 20 June, claims from Saturday will be paid on Sunday, and so forth.

When will I get paid?

If your settlement bank account is NPP-enabled, approved HealthPoint claim rebates will settle the next calendar day.

If claims are approved on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they will now be paid as separate daily settlements on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

This means claims approved on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be paid on Monday as three separate deposits.

What if my bank account is not NPP-enabled?

If your settlement bank account is not NPP-enabled, approved HealthPoint claim rebates will continue to settle on the next business day.

This means claims approved on Friday, Saturday and Sunday may be paid on Monday.

You may receive separate deposits on Monday for claims approved on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, rather than one combined deposit.

How do I know if my bank account is NPP-enabled?

An NPP-enabled bank account can receive or send real-time payments, including:

  • PayID – if your account has (or can set-up) a PayID (mobile number, email address, or ABN) then the account is NPP-enabled.

  • Osko – if your account can send real-time payments, then the account is NPP-enabled.

Do I need to do anything?

No, there’s nothing you need to do.

If your bank account is NPP-enabled, the updated settlement timing will apply automatically from 19 June 2026.

If your bank account is not NPP-enabled, your settlement timing will remain next business day.
