Tyro Health Online’ ECLIPSE integration enables health professionals to process online eligibility checks and submit both in-patients medical and Overseas Visitors (in and out of hospital services) claims via Services Australia.

If you’re a Tyro Health Online provider already set-up for Medicare Online, there’s no further action required - you're already enabled for ECLIPSE.

About the Online claiming provider agreement form

Services Australia now requires all software vendors and PMS to use PRODA authentication for claims submission. Integrated online claiming software, such as Tyro Health Online usually require a Medicare Online claiming provider agreement form (HW027) to be submitted to Services Australia. To simplify registration, Tyro Health Online will pre-populate this form, including the Minor ID.

Medicare Online bulk bill or DVA claims require this form, but ECLIPSE claims may not necessarily require another form if already registered for Medicare Online.

This form asks for a Minor ID (also known as a Software site ID or Location ID) which links a Medicare provider number to online claiming software. Minor IDs are generated and provided by a software vendor.

A provider number can only be registered to one online claiming software vendor, so if a new form for the same provider number is submitted with a Minor ID for different software, then claiming will be enabled on the new software and disabled on others.

If you currently use another software vendor for submitting Medicare Online (PCI, Bulk Bill, or DVA claims) or ECLIPSE claims, registering the Tyro Health Online Minor ID will disable submission of claims for the other software vendor - Tyro Health's Medicare Easyclaim on Tyro Health EFTPOS terminals isn't impacted.

When an Online claiming provider agreement form is required for ECLIPSE

A Tyro Health Online Minor ID is not necessarily required to submit certain ECLIPSE claims and checks, i.e. a provider number can be set-up for online claiming with one integrated software vendor formally registered and another unregistered. But, this will only work if the provider number is valid and active for some form of Medicare online claiming and only for select claim and check types - this also applies to Billing Agent numbers which must be registered.

If your provider number is already registered with another software product for Medicare Online or ECLIPSE claims processing, the same provider number can be added into Tyro Health Online and the following ECLIPSE functions can be used without further Minor ID registration:

  • Online Eligibility Checks, including:

    • Medicare & PHI (OEC) checks

    • PHI - fund only (ECF) checks

    • PHI - overseas (OVS) checks

  • In-patient Medical Claims, including:

    • Agreement claims (IMC-AG)

    • Scheme claims (IMC-SC)

    • Patient claims ( IMC-PC)

    • Billing Agent claims (IMC-MB)

  • All overseas claims, including:

    • Agreement claims (OVS-AG)

    • Scheme claims (OVS-SC)

    • Patient claims (OVS-PC)

    • Billing Agent claims (OVS-MB)

However, some claiming functionality requires a provider number to be registered with a Tyro Health Online Minor ID:

  • In-patient Medicare Only (IMC-MO) claims; and

  • Medicare Online Bulk Bill and DVA (PCI does not).

Options when a Minor ID is already registered with other software

There are options available if you wish to use Tyro Health Online with the full ECLIPSE functionality, including IMC-MO claims:

1. Apply for a new provider number (HW019) at the same location

  • The location must be identical street address plus a differentiator, such as a suite number or floor number) and the form must be signed by the provider.

  • Email form to provider.registration@servicesaustralia.gov.au with an explanation noting this is to enable two integrated software vendors for online claiming and specify the address differentiator, so the existing provider number’s address is not updated instead.

  • PRODA - HPOS “add provider location” function cannot be used for this scenario.

2. Switch claiming over to Tyro Health Online

  • If you want to switch to Tyro Health Online for ECLIPSE and/or Medicare Online claiming, you can submit a new Medicare Online claiming provider agreement form.

  • For instructions on how to download and complete your pre-populated Medicare Online claiming provider agreement form (HW027), refer to this article.

  • Submitting a new form for the same provider number with Tyro Health Online's Minor ID will prevent processing Medicare Online bulk bill and DVA and ECLIPSE in-patient Medicare Only claims with the existing third party software vendor.
