How to change a professional category or add specialties for a provider number

When raising ECLIPSE claims, the available item codes are determined by the servicing provider's 'Professional category' and 'Specialties'. For example, anaesthetic item codes are only available to select if the servicing provider number has the 'Professional category' set as "Specialist Physician" and the 'Specialties' set as "Anaesthetist".

You can view these options for your provider number by selecting the ECLIPSE 'settings' (on the 'get paid' page) then clicking the three horizontal dots for a provider and choosing 'edit'.

Change the 'Professional category'

The 'Professional category' selection can only be made for a provider number when onboarding the provider number into Tyro Health Online. To change this afterwards from 'settings', the provider number must be removed and then added again via the 'add provider' button above the table (right hand side).

Depending on how many provider numbers have been added under a staff member, deletion has to be handled differently:

  • If there's only one provider number for a staff member, hover over the three horizontal dots and choose the 'delete' option.

  • If there's more than one provider number for the staff member and you don't wish to delete all provider numbers, hover over the three horizontal dots and choose the 'edit' option, then click the 'remove line' button.

Add and remove 'Specialities'

The 'Specialties' options can be edited after set up and more than one option can be selected for a single provider number by clicking on all the relevant specialities.
