How to remove a provider from your merchant group

Step-by-step guide on how to remove a provider's MID from your merchant group

Written by Kim Phillips

As providers move on from your practice, you can remove their MID from your merchant group. This does not impact any other MIDs within your group and has no impact on your ability to trade.

Merchant IDs (MIDs) are not transferable and can not be moved to a different merchant group. If a provider is leaving your practice and joining a different practice who also uses Tyro, they will need to apply for a new MID and terminate their existing MID.

Before you start

Time to complete: <5 mins

What you'll need:

  • The merchant ID to remove

  • To be the nominated group super user or director/signatory of the MID

You can call our team and request this update on 1300 01 TYRO (8976) or email us at healthsupport@tyro.com.

You will need to request that the MID be 'Disabled' from your merchant group and a termination form be sent.

What's next?

Over the phone, our team will do an ID check and disable the MID from your group. A reboot of your EFTPOS machine will update this (or it will automatically happen overnight).

The termination form will need to be completed, signed by the ABN's director/signatory and returned to Tyro for processing.

This must be sent from an registered email address and if not being sent directly by the director(s), their registered email address must be cc'd on the email providing the signed form.
