Before you start
What you'll need:
At least two ID documents per person being verified. This can be:
Drivers's licence (check out our guide on finding your card number)
Medicare card
Passport
Access to your Tyro Health Online (THO) account.
What is identity verification and why it's required
Many Tyro Health Online features require you to verify the identity of individuals associated with your business before you can submit claims and payments.
The "know your customer" (KYC) and business verification process is required by card schemes, Government, and specific insurers - helping ensure the integrity of our solution.
How to complete your ID check
Identity verification is typically a short process completed online. You'll be prompted within your THO account when it's required.
You can also complete it proactively:
Log in to Tyro Health Online.
Go to Business settings.
Select Verify business.
Manual business verification
In some cases - such as more complex business structures like a trust - we may contact you directly to complete identity verification, or to request additional documents.
A Tyro Health Support team member will advise you what's required to complete the business verification.
You can also use the pink chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of Tyro Health Online to confirm you’re speaking with our team.
When verification can't be completed online
If we can't verify your identity online, it's often because:
You have multiple middle names, or
The spelling of your name differs slightly between ID types.
When this happens, you'll need to complete the verification over the phone.
How to complete the verification over the phone
If your identity can't be verified online, please call Tyro Health Customer Support team on 1300 018 976 and select Option 1 > Option 4 (Technical Support).
Please listen to the prompts as some times the options may change.
During the call:
A Tyro Health Support team member will confirm your details verbally.
They'll enter your information into the verification system.
You'll receive on-the-spot confirmation once complete.
What you'll need to have ready
For each person being verified, have at least two of the following:
Drivers licence
Medicare Card
Passport
How we protect your information
The details you disclose are not stored on any database and cannot be recalled later.
Information is entered directly into Equifax, the Credit Reporting Body (CRB) Tyro Health Online use to validate identity.
What is a CRB?
A Credit Reporting Body collects, stores, and discloses personal credit-related information about individuals from credit providers and public sources.
For Tyro Health Online, information help by the CRB is used only to verify identity.
