When you send a payment request to patients, they are offered the option to save their payment details for use with your business in the future. This may be useful for repeat patients and can help streamline transactions.
By saving card details, patients authorise a business to charge their card for purchases they make with that business. This authorisation will remain in effect until the card expires. The patient may also cancel this authorisation by contacting the business directly. Payment details can be managed for each patient within the 'Patients' tab.
You can choose to enforce this feature by mandating the saving of payment card details during a payment transaction. If enabled, patients will not be able to opt out of saving their details. This toggle can be found under 'Payments' on the 'Business settings' tab.
