Tyro Health Online’ ECLIPSE integration enables health professionals to process online eligibility checks and submit both in-patients medical and Overseas Visitors (in and out of hospital services) claims via Services Australia.
Using Tyro Health Online as a Billing Agent
Billing Agent details can be set on certain ECLIPSE claims. When set, financial settlements for approved claims will be directed to the nominated Billing Agent bank trust account on record with Medicare.
Some organisations may offer billing agent like services, but only those registered with an approved Medicare Billing Agent Provider Number should be set as a 'Billing Agent' in Tyro Health Online to submit ECLIPSE claims - for those without a Billing Agent Provider Number, skip to 'setting up Tyro Health Online to claim for providers'.
Setting up Billing Agents in Tyro Health Online
To streamline the ECLIPSE Online Eligibility Check and In-patient claim submission, you can select from a stored list of registered Billing Agents.
Before you start, read our help article with more information on how to manage billing for seperate entities and set up Tyro Health Online for multiple providers.
To add a Billing Agent, navigate to the ECLIPSE settings from the ‘Get paid’ page and scroll down to the ‘ECLIPSE claiming attributes’ and select the ‘Billing Agent’ tab. From here, you can enter their name and registration number.
Submitting claims as a Billing Agent
The process to submit an ECLIPSE claim as a Billing Agent follows the same steps as providers, but with key differences:
Billing Agent claims must be submitted using the specific Billing Agent claim types:
IMC MB: Billing Agent (PHI & Medicare) - for in-patient medical claims
IMC MO: Billing Agent (Medicare Only) - for in-patient medical claims
OVS MB: Billing Agent (PHI) - for overseas claims
The 'Billing agent' field must be populated, as shown below.
The above claim types and 'selecting a saved billing agent' cannot be used without a Medicare Billing Agent Provider number.

The above set-up and claim submission functionality for ECLIPSE cannot be used without a Medicare Billing Agent Provider Number - the settlement of funds for ECLIPSE claims will be paid to the Principal provider as per the details set and validated with Medicare / Funds directly for the provider number.
