What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Tyro Health account.

When authentication is required, you'll be asked to enter your password and a verification code sent by SMS to the mobile number registered to your account.

When will I be asked for a verification code?

We may ask you to verify your identity when completing certain actions in Tyro Health Online.

This includes:

  • when signing in, at least once every 28 days

  • when changing your password

  • when changing the mobile number used for 2FA

Set up 2FA

To set up 2FA on your Tyro Health account:

  1. Sign in to Tyro Health Online.

  2. Select your name in the top-right corner and go to your account settings.

  3. Find Two-factor authentication (2FA) and follow the prompts to set it up.

  4. Enter the mobile number you'd like to use for 2FA.

  5. We'll send a verification code to that number by SMS. Enter the code when prompted to complete setup.

Once set up, we'll use this mobile number whenever you need to verify your identity using 2FA.

Change the mobile number used for 2FA

You can update the mobile number used for 2FA from your account settings.

You'll be asked to verify your identity before the mobile number can be changed.

Make sure you use a mobile number that you can access, as verification codes will be sent to this number by SMS.

Why can't I turn off 2FA?

You may not be able to turn off 2FA if:

  • you have Business Administrator access; or

  • a Business Administrator has made 2FA mandatory for everyone with access to the business.

2FA is mandatory for users with Business Administrator access.

If 2FA has been made mandatory for your business, speak with one of your Business Administrators if you have questions about your access.

Require 2FA for everyone in your business

If you're a Business Administrator, you can make 2FA mandatory for all accounts with access to your business.
