A patient's name is considered Personal Identifiable Information (PII), however, the "invoice reference" field used across various payment and claiming submissions is a financial system field, so isn't classed as PII, therefore not obfuscated (i.e., hidden).

This means, if you enter a patient's name under "invoice reference" it will visible in other places, such as logs or reports that reference and show the "invoice reference" field.

For more information about personal identifiable information, check out the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner website.
