Comcare has partnered with Tyro Health to introduce digital invoicing to make it easier for pharmacy claims. Comcare can pay for the appropriate cost of medications prescribed by a legally qualified medical practitioner (LMPQ) or dentist for the treatment in an injured employee’s compensable condition.
Before you start, please ensure that you follow the Comcare Pharmacy Policy when providing medication for clients that have a claim with Comcare.
Enable Comcare digital invoicing
Before you start invoicing, you need to setup Comcare claiming in Tyro Health Online and specifically setup location-level claiming. For providers who don't have a Medicare provider number, the check box 'claim as a business or location' needs to be ticked.
The steps on how to enable Comcare digital invoicing are here. Note: the location level claiming setup is applicable to step two and you can find more information on this in a separate article here.
Submit a digital invoice for Comcare
Pharmacy claims can follow the same steps as other providers to submit a digital invoice to Comcare via Tyro Health Online - check out our step-by-step guide on how to submit Comcare invoices.
However, there are a number of important steps specific to pharmacy claims:
A copy of the prescription must be attached to the invoice submission - find out more about script types and attachments.
Specific medication descriptions are required to review a claim - see examples below.
