How to capture and store a patient's payment card details

Tyro Health Online enables providers to store the payment card details of patients. By saving card details, patients authorise a business to charge their card for purchases they make with that business. This authorisation will remain in effect until the card expires.

Payment details can be managed for each patient within the 'Patients' tab where you can see a patients 'Payment card details', including the expiry date.

Capturing and storing card details can be done two ways:

  1. A patient selects "save card details" during a transaction (learn how to make this mandatory for all payment requests).

  2. You select 'Request payment details' from the 'Patients' tab in Tyro Health Online.

If you want to capture and store payment details from new or existing patients without a transaction, you can select 'Request payment details' at any time. For example, you notice a patient's card has expired and want to update this before their next appointment.
