Tyro Health Online provides an 'Other' payment method option to allow payment to be processed and invoices marked as 'completed'. Once processed, 'Paid in person' will be displayed on the invoice.

Medicare and nib direct

  1. Raise a claim as per usual - check out our seperate step-by-step guides (Medicare patient funded and bulk bill and nib direct).

  2. After selecting 'continue to payment', the available payment methods will be displayed.

  3. Select 'Other', and then 'Submit'.

Tyro HealthPoint (digital claims)

Digital private health insurance claims processed via HealthPoint must be approved by a patient before a gap payment can be accepted. If there's an amount outstanding and Tyro Health Online Payments is available, the patient must pay the gap as part of the claim approval.

Alternatively, under Tyro HealthPoint settings, there's a 'Pay in Person' option. If this is set to "no", then the above rule will be enforced, i.e. the patient must pay using a credit or debit card, including using Apple Pay and Google Pay. If this is set to "yes", then the patient doesn't need to pay the gap using Tyro Health Online and can just approve the claim - this relies on you accepting payment directly from the patient.
