Completing an EFTPOS Application Form - Additional MID in existing Merchant Group

A practice manager's guide on how to complete an 'Add Account' EFTPOS application form for adding another MID to your Merchant Group.

You will need to have already set up your merchant group through our customer onboarding team to utilise this guide; refer to this article for more information.

Before you start

Time to complete: 10 - 15 mins

What you will need:

  • The link to the application sent to you by Tyro.

  • Bank account details for settlement and fees.

  • Business location information.

  • ID Documentation for Identity Verification (required for the ABN's directors).

Step-by-step guide

Sections 1 to 8 can be completed by the practice manager.

Section 9 is to be completed by the ABN holder(s).

Open the Application

  1. Locate the email and click 'Complete your application'.

Note: The sender of the email is support@onboard.tyro.com. The link was also sent via SMS.

Section 1: Welcome

  1. Select to confirm you have reviewed the Privacy & Consent, select that you would like to 'Save & Continue'.

Section 2: Business Entity Details

  1. Confirm ABN and business details.

  2. Select the Doing business as name from the drop-down box.

  3. Add the registered business address per ASIC register.

  4. Add your practice's address as the Trading Address

  5. If you would like the doctor's name to appear differently on EFTPOS receipts, select Different name and add the name to be displayed.

  6. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Note: The business details are linked to the ABN provided. If the ABN is incorrect, please contact our customer onboarding team on 1300 01 8976 to have this corrected.

Section 3: About Your Business

  1. Select 'Health & Government' as your Industry sector.

  2. Select the appropriate Sub-industry for the business.

  3. Add a brief description of the service your business provides.

  4. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Section 4: Transaction Details

  1. Add the average price you charge per patient.

  2. Add the average number of card payments expected for this MID per month.

  3. Add the estimated annual transaction value for this MID. For example: [amount in number 1] x [amount in number 2] x 12.

  4. If you take deposits for appointments in advance, select 'Yes' for the final question. If you don't select, 'No'.

  5. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Section 5: Features & Pricing Summary

Select the features you will need for this MID:

  1. Tap & Save: where possible, this enables contactless debit card transactions to be routed through the scheme network at the lowest cost to you (FAQs).

  2. Dynamic Currency Conversion: allows paying in foreign currencies (FAQs).

  3. MOTO Transactions: This allows over the phone payments (manually inputting the card details on the EFTPOS machine). This feature is commonly used for Telehealth payments if you don't have an eCommerce facility (FAQs). If MOTO is selected, you are also required to advise the percentage of your transactions you estimate will be processed via MOTO.

  4. Review your fees. These are set at a merchant group level and do not vary per MID within the group.

  5. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Section 6: Settlements & Fees

  1. Enter the details for the settlement funds to be deposited into.
    ​Note: The account name must match the registered business name of this ABN.

  2. If the fees are being debited from a separate account, select the check-box and add the additional account. This is commonly used if the practice covers the fees directly.
    Note: if an additional account is not listed, they will be deducted from the settlement account provided.

  3. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Section 7: Your Contacts

This is where you add your practice manager details (or similar) as an EFTPOS Administrator for the MID (Access Level FAQs). The person listed here will be able to contact Tyro about the account and see your transaction reporting in the Tyro Merchant Portal.

  1. Add their name, mobile & email address.

  2. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Section 8: Ownership Details

The required signatory(s) will be automatically identified.

  1. Provide email and mobile number for these contacts.

  2. Click 'Save & Continue'.

Section 9: Digital Contract

Agreements

  1. Review 'Direct Debit Authorisation Request' and click Agree & Continue.

  2. Review the 'Merchant Declaration' and click Agree & Continue.

  3. Review he 'Merchant Declaration - Health' and click Agree & Continue.

Document Signing & Identity Verification

  1. Complete signatory(s) details.

  2. Click 'Save & Continue'.

  3. Select the first identity document type and complete require fields.

  4. Click 'Select' to upload a copy of the document.

  5. Add the document and click 'Confirm'.
    Note: some documents may also require a photo of the back of the document (e.g. drivers licence) and this will be prompted.

  6. Click 'Continue'. This will verify the validity of the document.

  7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for further identity documents.

  8. Take a live photo when prompted to verify that the person signing, matches the identity document provided.

  9. Sign by using the mouse/touch screen, typing, or uploading your signature.

  10. Click 'Submit'.

What happens next?

  • Most applications receive instant conditional approval and a MID will be generated and sent via email. If not received within 2-4 hours, these can take up to 48 hours to review; please look for emails from our team should any additional information be required.

  • Once MID is received, your EFTPOS machine will need to be rebooted for the new MID to appear. Depending on your PMS, you may also need to re-pair the EFTPOS machine after adding the new MID into the PMS.
