Introduction
When processing a private health insurance claim, an accompanying patient gap payment is often also required at the same time. We have designed Tyro Health Online to make this a seamless experience, while ensuring service providers have comfort this gap payment is not missed.
Processing a gap payment
Before you start, in order to process a gap payment for digital private health insurance claim, a business is required to have set up Tyro Health Online Payments - this will enable businesses to process Visa and MasterCard debit and credit card payments, all within the same digital private health insurance claim workflow. If you have not set up MCP, please check out our help article on how to do this.
Once you have set up MCP, you can follow our step-by-step guide on processing the gap using MCP. Alternatively, if you are comfortable enabling your patients to not pay the gap via Tyro Health Online, and you will manage gap payments directly, you can enable ‘Pay in Person’ - check out our help article on this functionality.
